| Previously known as the Yugoslavian national team, the Serbia and Montenegro team only played their first international match in December 1994 after they were reformed. There is an abundance of individuals on the team who have achieved success in their own right on an International level although they previously seemed to have some difficulty pulling together and playing as a team. With new boss IIija Petkovic leading the team and regular players such as Savo Milosevic, Darko Kovacevic and Mateja Kezman being joined by some great fresh new talent it could just be Serbia and Montenegro's first real opportunity to realise their dreams. With such a strong line up in place and a sheer determination instilled in the players Serbia and Montenegro could well be capable of making it through to the final stages if certain other matches fall favourably.
