| Having finished at the bottom of the qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup, Trinidad and Tobago went on to beat Mexico 2-1 in October 2005 to secure a place in the 2006 competition. With a history of limited success in the International arena, Trinidad and Tobago are only the 2nd ever Caribbean team to have made it this far in the World cup. Securing their place in the final for 2006 has given the team a boost and they are set to give their best shot to move through the competition rounds and achieve a level of success they have only ever dreamed of. With sheer determination on display from the 'Soca Warriors' and several premiership players such as Dwight Yorke and Stern John all set to help them achieve their goals, this could be a year that raises their profile in the game. However, even with this line up and the ambition to succeed it will still be a long shot for major success for the Trinidad and Tobago team in Germany.
